IBWL – 20-Time Final Reflection Name:
Kylee Juday
Directions: Please answer the following questions in complete sentences. Be
honest and specific. How you respond will not be “graded”; however the thorough
and honest completion of the reflection will be worth a portion of your final
exam score (see rubric). Turn in your typed responses by Friday, June 6th.
This reflection will help me evaluate your 20-time project and 20-time itself.
You may want to use the ideas in this reflection for your final blog post
and/or final lightning talk.
1. What did you intend to accomplish with your 20time project? What
did you actually accomplish with your 20time project? I intended to accomplish a book full of memories that I will be able
to look back on, laugh, and reminisce. I accomplished some pages in my book but
decided to keep the book more as a journal and add onto it every time I have a
new memory that I want to remember.
- Describe
the impact of your project on yourself and others. How could you use what
you learned to create a positive change in someone else or the community? This project make me realize that I am not getting any younger
and I will have to figure out a way to remember the good times in the
past. I could use this to promote scrap booking as a fun and creative way
to keep one’s special memories safe.
3. What roadblocks did you run into? What were the areas of the
project that were more difficult than you expected them to be? The main trouble was time management. I wanted to be able to
complete one page per week but that was hard to do with all the other things I
had going on.
- What
new learning, if any, did you gain because of the roadblock? Did the
roadblock give you new insight, change the course of the project, etc.?
How? I didn’t really learn anything from the
roadblock, but it changed my perspective on my scrapbook in deciding it to
be a journal thing instead.
5. Finish this sentence: The thing about this kind of learning that
works best for me is…. I get to venture out and
try new things that I want to do instead of having something boring that I don’t
want to learn.

thing about this kind of learning that is a challenge for me is... being able to use the time wisely.
7. Would you consider your project a success? A failure? Somewhere in
between? Explain your answer. I consider it to be
somewhere in between because I intended it to be something completely different,
but I fell in love with the new idea that came to mind.
8. Estimate how much time you spent on your 20-Time project per week:
I’d say 1-2 hours per week.

all qualities that apply. I think all apply.
- How
does what you did in 20-Time show relevant learning in your English class?
Things that may apply: written communication, oral communication,
collaboration, research skills, technology/digital media skills, reading
skills, etc. It helped me a lot with
my communication and creative skills.
- What
advice would you have for teachers who are doing 20-time projects in the
future? What would you tell them that would make the project go more
smoothly or more successfully? Maybe do the venue
during school, like the senior projects.
- What
advice would you have for students who are doing a 20-time project in the
future? What would you tell them that would make the project go more
smoothly or more successfully? Choose your topic
carefully. Make sure you will be able to keep up with it.
13. Will you continue with your independent learning/creating beyond
this class? Why or why not? Yes because I want to make
this into a journal and add on my newer memories.
